Bio

Ann Goltz wrote her first short story at the tender age of six, and went on to write dozens more, as well as poems, plays, and a novel during her middle and high school years. Also a voracious reader, her love for books led Ann to a job at a bookstore in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Unfortunately, that job gave her more experience in bookkeeping than writing or publishing actual books, and she got sidetracked into a finance career.

For five years Ann worked for the US Air Force, managing the financial aspects of various defense programs and general operations. During this time she also earned a BS in Management, only to discover that she didn’t want a career in business. She quit her job in order to pursue a Master’s in Divinity full time. Ann graduated from Wartburg Theological Seminary and became an ordained pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).

After serving congregations in South Dakota, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Iowa, she left active ministry to care for her family. Being a classic GenX latchkey kid, Ann didn’t know much about traditional homemaking, so she researched it online. This led her to discover the Quiverfull movement, and the idea for her novel was born.

Ann lives in New Hampshire with her husband, two teenagers, and three cats. Virtuous Women is her first published novel.
